OMEGA times the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games

As the world counts down to the start of another extraordinary sporting spectacle, OMEGA prepares to record even more Olympic dreams. From August 24th, the Swiss brand will continue its role as Official Timekeeper of Tokyo 2020 at the 16th Paralympic Games, in which 4000 talented athletes from across the world will compete for gold.

From day one to September 5th, OMEGA will deliver split-second results to athletes, spectators, media and the world, in every single discipline and across all 21 venues. In addition to providing a highly skilled team and the most advanced technology, OMEGA will bring decades of Olympic Games timekeeping experience.

While clearly pride of the brand’s long and distinguished history of precision, OMEGA President and CEO, Raynald Aeschlimann reserved his highest praise for the athletes: “Finally, these dedicated sports stars have a chance to show their skills on the world stage. As Official Timekeeper, our aim is to serve their needs as they strive for gold. It’s a big responsibility and an incredible honour. We look forward to measuring their performances, making their times official and sharing the results with the world.”

The athletes taking part in the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games will compete in 22 sports, including archery, rowing, cycling, wheelchair fencing, sitting volleyball and triathlon. Added to the extensive list of existing disciplines are two new sports: badminton and taekwondo.
